Tuesday Reflection – Week #3

Class on Tuesday definitely left me wanting more. Ryan sort of created a framework for us to discuss institutional systems and powers and how we can transform them. Butbefore we can talk abouttransforming them, we have to first take some time to really think about what they are and how they are made up. so that’s what we did on Tuesday, and i wish we could have just dove into the concept of transformation! A lot of social theories out there are really dualistic. they say the systems are either complete entities by themselves, or completely made up by individuals. but i am excited we are going to take a more wholistic approach in this class. because the systems as a whole are broken, but that’s mostly because they’re made up of broken people. i want to explore what this means for us as we seek to bring transformation to both humanity and they systems we are a part of.
